This Catapult Frame Turned Out Better Than I Expected.
With The Size & the & Shape Of It.
I Done The Same Technique With The Sand Casting Mold, By Making My Shape With An Old Wooden Frame Which I Had Made Out Of A Tree Branch Along Time Ago.
I Got The Wooden Frame & Placed It Into The Sand & Gently Tapped It Down With The Rubber End Of The Hammer.
Once It Was Firmly embedded Into The Sand, I Pushed The Sand Around The Edges Of It With The End Of The Hammer & Also Using My Fingers, Making It As Hard & Strong As I Possibly Could.
Once I Felt That This Was Ready, I Carefully Removed The Woodn Frame Out Of The Sand Being Very Careful Not To Disturb Any Of The Pattern.
There Was A Couple Of Bits That Needed Touching Up Once It Was Out But That Happens.
I Then Started To Get My Fire Going Next To Me, Nice & Hot & Started The Process Of Melting The Cans.
Once I Had Melted Enough Aluminium, I Poured It Into My Sand Mold I Hade Made Earlier.
Once The Pour Was Complete, I Waited A Few Seconds & put The Hot Metal Into A Bucket Of Water, With Some Metal Tongs, Which Boiled Instantly.
In About 10 Seconds, I Was Able To Pick It Out With My Hands.
Theres A Picture Of The Wooden Frame I Used To Make The Mold & The Finished Melted Pour I Got From It Once I Pulled It Out Of The Bucket Of Water.
So Now It Was Time To Make Sure The Fire Cooled Down Safely & While I Done That, I Started The Sanding Process.
A Few Hours Later After Some Dremal, Filing, Sanding Down N A Few Coffee Breaks I Had A Nice New Shiny Catapult Frame, All Ready To Band.
